This is a game that looks to be in pretty early development. They supposedly just got through with a 'closed release'...basically an alpha or concept test I think. Sounds like they had a lot of placeholders and very few animations available.

Story Background
Planet Cambrian was discovered by a scout fleet during a discovery mission five years ago, currently has become one of the most popular topics among the star associations.

There are two main reasons for human being so eagerly to land on Cambrian:

First, the powerful energy mine on Cambrian is able to generate power which equals to power generated by a minor nuclear plant for three weeks with only one gram, which is believed to be the alternative resource for universe exploration of next generation.

Second, the fierce creature on Cambrian - Warmbug, is highly concerned with star associations, medical field, and science field because of its value. Limited data shows that the secretions of Weambug might have the ability to repair damaged human cells and the maintenance of stem cell structure, which has the possibility to cure all lethal wound.

However, landing on Cambra is regard as a extremely difficult task. The terrain of Cambrian is not conducive to land because of its enormous magnetic interference fields, it block communication signals and bring down navigation system of spaceships. In addition, identified Weambug has verified a high level of hostility toward the human.

After giant battleship "Trafalgar" and "Tarawa" has tragedy failed their landing mission, the star associations resembled "Cambiran Exploration Alliance (CEA)" and legislate strict laws to forbids illegal landing on Cambrian star.

CRA is believed to be a study and collaboration organization, but it is actually nothing but a platform for star associations to mutually spying. Secret landing continues happens under the table. All star associations are all willing to be the first to establish colonies and exclusive resources on Cambrian.

Eva Liberty is a warfare analysis of the third scout fleet, she and her best friend - Talent Victoria, the vice commander of Lady Luck, are responsible for routine patrol operation of Planet Cambrian.

One day they suddenly ordered to land on the most inclement area of Planet Camberian. According to the data, several weeks ago, one special military research fleet was sent to Planet Cambrian secretly. From the last communication log, the research team has discovered a vital secret of Planet Cambrian.

Eva and her fellows are given the order to land on the planet and recover the important intelligence.Eva is not a fighting unit. She was so scared of this mission. Victoria touched her face tender and softly, each of her move has comfort the deepest part of Ava's heart.

However, this is the last time that they share the moment together. With unclear reason, the nuclear device has broken down, the spaceship start force landing. When Ava wake up, she found that she is landing in the military research ship, but none of her fellows are there.

From the deepest place of the ship, she seems heard Victoria is calling her name. As the final survivor, Ava put on the combat suit and load the gun.

She determined to recover the intelligence and find her best friend Victoria.

Also, here is a small folder of some artwork that has already been released.

Is that from the same author/group that released the Alien(s) fighting game?
I forgot the name but it was a real disappointment.

Not quite sure which alien fighting game you are talking about...there are literally probably hundreds. But no, I doubt it....there isn't any info on anything else on that blog that I could find. Appears to be the only game on their site and possibly the only one they've done.

Looks interesting. The lack of lighting reminds me of Anthophobia.

Are you thinking of Dime en loan? I don't believe that the two developers are one and the same.

Yeah, this one.... the Alien versus Heroine, good to know they are not from the same developer.

Definitely looks Xenotake-ish, but it could be a flop. Who knows :D

While it does look good, the art quality is nothing but subpar at best. But if the game execution itself is good, then that'll [hopefully] make up for it.

Re: Side Scrolling Action -- The Primeval Star: Operation Dark Mana

I tested his version yesterday, well, there is no porn banners on my desktop for now and no hacked email account, so this system seems legit, at least for now:) Speaking about the game itself, IMHO final demo should have more hentai scenes than 1 with that bug and the difficulty should be easier, but as I understand the developer already took that into consideration. There are lots of work done about game plot/world/atmosphere/etc., so let's just hope that further hentai artwork drawing process will comply with the pace of the development of other sides of the game (nobody will play hentai game full of level details if there will be no hentai scenes, right?)

Re: Side Scrolling Action -- The Primeval Star: Operation Dark Mana

I was suspicious too, but scanning the game folder with security programs turns up nothing and the game program doesn't attempt to upload anything at any time. I think "Dr. Linch" just really likes being in character is a space scientist.

It's kind of annoying having to go through the intro again after every game over, but I can see some promise in this game. The animations are smooth and the gameplay work, even if the difficulty balancing is nutty. Going into a room, firing some shots, leaving the room to reload, and repeating seems like the only good strategy. It also turns into a huge drag to continue playing after the suit breaks.
Does the resist/feed struggle mechanic make sense to anyone? It seems like one of the options sometimes stops working, and the only h-content seems to be the heroine getting fondled to soften her up for bloodless stabbing.

At the moment, I don't think there's much difference between the Resist or Feed mechanic at the moment besides taking less damage. I'm hoping there will be more to this mechanic later on in the future since there are some nice things that can be done and added to this overall. Plus, the creator did mention that there is actually 4 H-content created at the moment of development, but the warm bug is the only one we can see in the current build.

Re: Side Scrolling Action -- The Primeval Star: Operation Dark Mana

Well, it has potential. Very much reminded of Xenotake in the gameplay style.

It will be interesting to see how it improves, and what sort of enemies the dev will implement further on down the track.
